Dr. Valerie Arthur is a distinguished philanthropist and visionary leader committed to transformative humanitarian work and Christ-centered mission. Her enduring dedication to nonprofit service, educational advancement, and spiritual development reflects her passion for catalyzing lasting change in underserved communities.

She serves as President of Black Gold International LLC, Katherine Nunnally S.T.E.A.M. Academy in Saint Michel de l’Attalaye, Christ Centered in The City School of Ministry, and The Truth Summit Conference—a Biblically grounded initiative designed to engage youth in identity formation, truth, and empowerment through the Gospel.
With a longstanding record of Christian advocacy and civic engagement, Dr. Arthur broke barriers as the first African American Prison Administrator at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in New Jersey.

 

Today, she continues her legacy of leadership as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Church and Board Chair of the Smith Family Foundation of New Jersey, where she actively meets tangible needs while proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ. Dr. Arthur is a staunch believer in the transformative power of education—whether through two- or four-year degrees, vocational training, or continuing education. She often declares, “Be Conformed to this World but be thee transformed by the renewing of your mind.” a motto that defines her approach to equipping communities with tools for spiritual and sustainable growth. Education through prayer changes things.

Her academic credentials include an Associate of Science from Mercer County Community College, a Bachelor of Science from Cairn University, and both a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate in Prison Policy and Transformative Justice from New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
